I’m sparing with my friend in two weeks and need to buy some MMA fighting gloves. I’m looking fro some light weight, sturdy gloves. Cheap is good but quality is better. Any ideas??!
what should i look for? should they be open palm, and r thumb sleeves bad? etc. are these a good pair of grappling gloves?

Today at school I got into this argument with some girl in my PE class. She says that she is tougher than me and could kick my butt in boxing match. So afterschool, we grabbed 2 pairs of boxing gloves from the storage room and went outside to have a match.
After about a minute of 2 of boxing, no one had really gotten in a good punch, then all of a sudden she threw a through punch and hit my square in the balls. I went down, and she declared herself the winner, and called me a wuss for going down after 1 punch.
1. would you consider her the winner of the fight because of how she won?
2. am i a wuss for going down after 1 hit?
All i remember is there is an old guy in red and during one fight they fight in a burning house and one guy doesn’t have shoes and the floor is really hot. And at the end he kicks a dude off the building into a coffin thing.
I’m about to start doing muay Thai should I buy gloves for it now or do I not need them yet?
